Melanie “Theresa” Todd, 50, of Lefors and formerly of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on March 20, 2024, at home with her family by her side.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Alva Blalock, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Theresa was born on October 14, 1973, in Groom to James and Sue Todd. She grew up and attended school in Lefors. After high school, she enrolled into Johnson and Wales University to help her enter her life-long passion of the culinary arts. After exiting culinary school, Theresa started her career that spanned several years and covering many different cooking disciplines. She excelled in baking and would own and operate her own bakery, Signature Sweets in Charleston.
Throughout the years Thersea would spend time in both Texas and South Carolina. When in Texas, she worked in the food service and grocery industries for Starbucks and United Supermarkets. She was also employed at Coronado Healthcare Center. In South Carolina she worked as a pet sitter with Pampered Pets. Her culinary abilities were not her only talent, she also excelled in the arts that included watercolor and making different sorts of jewelry and other crafts.
Above all, Theresa will be remembered as a generous woman who often put others before herself and who easily made friends. She will be greatly missed by family and all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Todd; maternal grandmother, Helen Akins; maternal grandfather, Jack Thacker; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Burgess; and by several aunts and uncles.
Theresa is survived by her mother, Sue Todd of Lefors; a sister, Penny Falkowski of Annville, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Robert Todd and Tim Todd, both of Lefors; two aunts, Connie Parks of Pampa, and Meledy Story of Del Norte, Colorado; an uncle, Bob Thacker of Lefors; and by numerous cousins.
