Melba June Clark

Melba Blevins Clark, 98 years of age, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma after living a thriving and joyful life. She was born September 24, 1925, to Bill and Keddie Blevins in a two-room log cabin in Pittsburgh County. Melba graduated high school from Stuart Oklahoma as the Salutatorian at 16 years old and attended College in Ada Oklahoma.
Melba's early years in rural Oklahoma were spent taking care of her siblings, farming, cooking, and keeping warm with wood stoves and using kerosene lamps for light. This truly shaped her "get it done" ethic. She also taught in a one-room schoolhouse near Arpelar, Oklahoma with 12- 15 students which also included her brother, sisters, and cousins.
In 1946 she met Paul Raymond Clark while attending college and on August 1, 1947, they eloped in Sherman Texas and eventually settled in Del City. Paul passed away in May of 1998 after 50 years of marriage. They had four children, nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Melba always said she was very fortunate that her children lived close by, and "Mema" was able to be a loving part of their families lives.
She was steadfast in her commitment to staying active. In 1998 she found water aerobics which she continued until the pandemic. Melba was an energetic quilter giving away hundreds to expectant mothers and family. She is fondly remembered by members of Meadowood Baptist Church where she was passionate about serving with Master's Market Mission. Melba said, "I was born into the family of God and the Lord has been very dear to me".
Melba is survived by sisters; Faye Scarborough, Virginia Johnson, and Wilma Lee; Children; Paul and Candy Clark, Mark and Shelley Clark, Tom Clark and Carolyn and Bill Freeman and her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Keddie Blevins; husband Paul Raymond Clark; and brother W.E. Blevins, Jr.

A memorial service will be provided at Ford Funeral Services in Midwest City on Friday January 19th at 1:30. Visitations Thursday, January 18th from 11am-6pm with family present 4pm-6pm. Tributes and condolences can be viewed online at fordfuneral.com.
