Melda Murr Obituary
Melda Geraldine Murr, 84, of Prattville, Alabama passed away August 27, 2025, in Ashville, AL.
She was born August 21, 1941, in Alabama, daughter of the late Joseph Baker and the late Iris Baker.
She was a Homemaker. She adored her family, her dog "Bear", traveling, and Elvis Presely. She was an avid Alabama football fan. She spent much of her time traveling to visit Native American Reservations.
Surviving are her Sons, Phillip Murr, Rex (Emily) Murr; Daughter, Melba Pike; Daughter-in-law, Lora Murr; 7 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 7 Great, Great-Grandchildren; A host of numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Joseph Baker; Mother, Iris Baker; Husband, Lee Arthur Murr, Jr.; Brother, V.J. Baker; Granddaughter, Sabrina Hill; Son-in-Law, Sam Pike; Great-Granddaughters, Shauni Lache Murr, Lucas Rex Murr; Great-Grandson, Ashton Lee Murr; Son, Michael "Mike" Murr; Grandson, Phillip Lee Murr, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hill, Denarion Hill, Troy Murr, James Ray Murr, Phillip Murr, Chris Pike.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shelby Binion & Pastor Greg Melvin officiating.
Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
