A native of Coffee County, she is the daughter of the late Ernest Bohanan and Linda Ferrell Bohanan. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Randy Poole, Tim Poole and Dale Bohanan.
Melinda was a high school graduate and enjoyed working. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being able to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
On January 25, 1986, she married Robert Swearington, and they spent 38 years together before her passing.
Her survivors include her husband, Robert Swearington of Tullahoma, Tennessee, children, Derek Swearington of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Amanda (Adam) Terrell of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Jessica (Mark) Spann of Centerville, Tennessee, Aunt, Debbie (Max) Gilley of Normandy, Tennessee, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service being planned for a later date.
