Melissa (Missy) Ann Barber, born February 12th, 1973 passed away on Sunday November 5th, 2023, at the age of 50 years old. She is in preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Vera Gosnell and her son Tony. She is survived by her husband Larry. Her Children Zach, his wife Brittany and Devin. Her stepchildren Ty and Drew. Her grandchildren Braiden, Zoe, Rylee, & Memphis. Her sister Sandy, her Aunt Mae and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Missy was lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida. Missy graduated from Ed White High School, class of 1991. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Mimi, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was an avid Football, Nascar and Baseball Fan. She had a great love for her Atlanta Braves and Alabama Crimson Tide Football. Missy above all loved spending time with her family to watch a game or race. Being surrounded by her family and bonding over the love of these things was the most precious thing to her, so she would every chance she got. She enjoyed spending time with friends, going to show her support for their local bands or just meet up for an evening of fun and laughter.
Missy will always be remembered as a fierce woman, a force of nature. She was strong and opinionated like her father, but she loved as deeply as her mother. Missy was someone you could count on to always be honest and had a way with words that could help one see the silver lining in any situation.
Services will be held on Wednesday November 15th, 2023, at Cedar Bay Funeral, Visitation will take place 5:00 PM to 6:00 Pm, with services starting at 6:00 PM.
At the request of the family if you wish to make a donation instead of sending flowers, please do so in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
