Melissa C. Blaine

Melissa C. Blaine, 84, of East Syracuse, entered unto rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born in Buffalo on October 3, 1941. Melissa graduated from LeMoyne College, which is where she met her devoted husband, Paul Srokose. She retired from Aurora of CNY in September of 2008 after 18 years as a blind rehabilitation instructor, a job she thoroughly loved.
Melissa enjoyed reading, crafting, and sewing, and she had an eye for decorating and fashion. She also painted on several mediums, including slate and wood furniture. She loved her dog, Molly and Sophie, her cat.
She was predeceased on October 14, 1997 by her husband of 33 years, Paul S. Srokose. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Cate Voss (David) and Carey Romano; son, David (Christina); sister, Betsy Harris; brothers, Tim Coley and Michael Coley (Anne); and her adored grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grammy", Rachel Romano, Kevin Romano and Nathan Romano.
Undeniably, her passionate wit and fabulous smile will be forever embedded in the hearts of those who will never forget her.
There will be a private family service and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt.
