Melissa Anne Moran

Melissa Anne Moran, 51, Born on August 24, 1972, passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2024. Melissa was born in Kettering, Ohio and graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1991 and was a three sport athlete for all four years of high school. Melissa went on to further her education at Bowling Green State University where she studied parks, recreation and leisure management. She was a devoted Falcon. Melissa began her career in the city of Cincinnati at the Cincinnati YMCA before moving to the City of Mason in the department of recreation and pool management. After that, Melissa found her niche in the aquatics department at the Washington Township Recreation Center (Rec Plex) where she would grow into the position of Aquatics Supervisor. Melissa was a dedicated and loyal employee of the Washington Township Rec Center (Rec Plex) where she was loved and highly respected. Many of her co-workers and employees have stated how much they enjoyed having her at the Rec Plex. Melissa had a number of responsibilities at the Rec Plex including managing the pool, working with the WTRC Sharks and the Centerville High School Swim Team. Melissa had a passion for sports! She was a devoted Bengals fan where she was a season ticket holder and attended Super Bowl LVI with a dear friend. Melissa even leaves behind a cat named Jo-Jo B, who is named after Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow. She was also a big fan of Ohio State Football, Bowling Green Football and the Cincinnati Reds. Melissa also enjoyed traveling including cruising the Caribbean Islands, trips to Fort Myers Beach, and Hilton Head. Melissa is preceded in death by her father John Moran. Melissa is survived by her loving mother Anne Moran, sister Melinda (Moran) Newman, brother-law Chris Newman, niece Leanne Newman and nephew Luke Newman. Melissa also had many additional loving family members and friends. Melissa was full of life and will be dearly missed. The family of Melissa will host a Celebration of Life at Newcomer Funeral Home on Thursday August 1st with a visitation from 5:00-7:00pm and a presentation at 7:00pm.
