Melissa Anne O’Leary, 42, died Monday, April 11, 2025 at the St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, after a short period of declining health. Born at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Dorchester, she was raised and educated in Stoughton before moving to Raynham and graduating from Bridgewater Raynham High School. Her fondest childhood memories were spending time with her Nana and Papa and family. Over the years, she worked as a waitress at several area restaurants. Melissa’s greatest happiness and joy was the birth of her daughter Alisiah in 2003. She cherished the time spent by the ocean and time with her daughter and her family.
Melissa is survived by her daughter Alisiah T. Shepard of Raynham and her parents, Theresa (O’Leary) Folsom and Richard Folsom of Raynham and her longtime boyfriend Michael Hall of Boston. She was the granddaughter of Marilyn Folsom and the late Norman Folsom, Arthur O’Leary and Judith O’Leary. Melissa was the niece of Debbie James, Arthur O’Leary, Michael O’Leary and his wife Judi, and Jeannette and Peter LaGarde. She is also survived by her cousins, David Blahut, Michael O’Leary, Arthur O’Leary, Caitlin O’Leary, Ben O’Leary, Ashlee James, Colleen James, Bobby James, Heather LaGarde, Joe LaGarde and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Melissa will be missed by her family and know that she will rest in peace in heaven until we meet again.
