Survivors include her mother, Marilyn Cox of Casey, IL; children, Nathan Lampley of Martinsville, IL; Austin Ragsdale (Haley) of Casey, IL; Myra Ragsdale (Kevin) of Mattoon, IL; Jared Ragsdale of Casey, IL and Jenna Ragsdale of Casey, IL; granddaughter, Harper Ragsdale of Casey, IL; brother, Jason Cox of Casey, IL; her neighbors, friends and her faithful dog and companion, Echo. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin D. Goldman; stepfather, Donald Cox and the father of her children, Michael Wesley Ragsdale.
Melissa was a 1988 graduate of Casey High School. She continued her education graduating with her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She worked at Heartland Manor for many years. Melissa enjoyed opening up her house to her friends and family who loved to feed a crowd and could have fed an army. Cooking for seven was full time and she could make a meal from scratch out of "this and that." Her children especially loved her Christmas candy. She was always proud of her children.
At her request cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date by her family.

She made the best food. She was amazing I´ll forever miss her man. She was always there to chat if I needed to vent or just talk to someone. I LOVE YOU MELISSA ! You were like my aunt
