Steven Phillip Brandenburg, age 73, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born December 5, 1951 in Robinson, IL, the son of Carl Vincent Brandenburg and Marjorie Ruth (Newsome) Brandenburg. On June 13, 1972, he married Marilyn J. Smith in West Columbia, SC. Survivors include his mother, Ruth Stout of Casey, IL; loving wife of fifty-three years, Marilyn Brandenburg of Casey, IL; children, Michael Brandenburg (Valerie) of Casey, IL and Amanda Collier (Jeremy) of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren, Jordan Brandenburg (Tabby), Jarod Brandenburg, Alexis Robison, Ethan Robison, Nevaeh Collins and Serenity Collins; great grandchildren, Brody, Riplee and Bowen Brandenburg and Amellia, Karter and Allie Robison; sisters, Nancy Shafer of Greenup, IL, Carla Zachary of Casey, IL and Joy Myers of Martinsville, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Brandenburg; stepfather, Bill Stout; infant brother, John Robert Brandenburg; niece, Tracy Livvix; brother-in-law, Larry Shafer. Steven was a 1970 graduate of Pasco High School, Dade City, FL. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1971-1973. Steven worked in Oil Production as an Oil Field Pumper for many years. He was a faithful member and trustee of Macedonia Baptist Church. Steven was always quick to stop what he was doing to assist others. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Markwell Funeral Home with Brother Randy Black officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Macedonia Cemetery, rural Casey, IL.
