Deborah Jean (Southard) Hagood, age 64, of Rose Hill, IL, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 25, 2025 at her residence. She was born August 25, 1961 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Pastor Loren Lee Eugene "Gene" Southard and Ruth Ann (Remlinger) Southard. In 1980 she married Fred E. Hagood in Ardmore, OK; he passed away on October 9, 2013.
Deb is survived by her fiancé, Daniel Lee Hires of Rose Hill, IL; her faithful Schnauzer pup, Linzee (aka Worm and Miss Puppy); aunts, Donna Remlinger of Lincoln, IL, Mary Johnson of Lincoln, IL, Martha McGregor of Rochester, IL, and Ann Daniels of Lincoln, IL; uncle, Richard Remlinger of Casey, IL; stepbrother, Scott Howe (Debra) of Martinsville, IL; stepsisters; Rebecca Bielser (Chad) of Wewahitchka, FL, Carla Gilbert of Montverde, FL and Kalena Meyers of Montverde, FL; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred Hagood; aunts, Mary Maxine Millam, Christine Shanks, Edna Leota Hires, Shirley Prince, Catherine Sue Hout and Patty Jo Roe; uncles, Carl Southard, Robert Remlinger, James Remlinger and Carl Remlinger, Sr.
Deb was a 1979 graduate of Casey High School; she later graduated from Oral Roberts University. She worked for many years as a worker compensation adjuster for various insurance companies. Deb had many associations over her lifetime with churches and organizations in Illinois and Oklahoma. Deb enjoyed woodcarving, crafting, playing cards, listening to music and dining out. She had a fondness for all animals.
At her request no formal services will be held.
