Melissa Thompson

Melissa Gregory Thompson, 50, of 104 Mint Road, Jonesville, SC died on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ellis "Red" Gregory and Viola Allen Gregory.
Melissa was a 1990 graduate of Jonesville High School and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Melissa is survived by three brothers, Ellis Earl (Judy) Gregory, Dennis (Wilhelmenia) Gregory, and Timothy (Lisa) Gregory all of Jonesville, SC; five sisters, Teresa (Rickey) Murphy of Jonesville, SC, Lizzie (Charles) Jeter of Union, SC, Levonne Goode of Jonesville, SC, Jacqueline (Gary) Pollard of Atlanta, GA, and Sharon (Anthony Ray) Smith of Union, SC; sister-in-law, Shirley Gregory of Jonesville, SC; her nieces and nephews, Lashun Gregory, Jerrell Gregory, Sharran Gregory, Catrina Jeter, Whitney Gregory Neely, Yolanda Thompson, Kenyatta Jeter, Sierra Smith, Rickey Murphy, Markese Gregory, Erica Pollard-Staton, Latoria Smith, Moriah Goode, Symone Murphy, and Tamaya Gregory; uncles, Russell Gregory and Lee Earnest Gregory both of Jonesville, SC, Norris (Sally R.) Gregory of Greensboro, NC and Floyd (Donna) Allen, Elmore Allen, and Lennwod (Joyce) Allen all of Union, SC; aunts, Lizzie Mae Smith, Cloriena (Grover) Smith, and Nancy Gregory all of Union, SC, Shirley Allen and Josephine Murphy both of Jonesville, SC; one great-aunt, Cevera Lipsey of Jonesville, SC; and a host of cousins and other caring relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Ray Gregory and Dewayne "Duke" Gregory; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Lee "Johnnie Boy" Goode; and a nephew, Jamarcus Gregory; and four uncles, Theodore Gregory and Gonzie Lee Allen; aunts, Nellie Allen Shippy, Bernestine Smith "Bunt" Gregory, Deborah Davis, and Easter Mae Allen Kershaw Good.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Community Mortuary. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Levonne Goode, 211 Eisontown Road, Jonesville, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
