Melissa Wiley

Melissa Michelle Wiley, affectionately known as "Missy", was born on July 13th, 1973, to the union of Sam Wiley and late Willa Wiley and Bonus Dad James Arnold. Missy was the youngest of 3 children. Missy is leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, a big smile and countless memories.
Missy grew up in Lincoln Heights, where she attended Lincoln Heights Elementary and Princeton High School. Known throughout the community, Missy was a familiar face at Speedway, where her warmth and quick sense of humor made her a customer favorite. She was especially loved by the Woodlawn Fire and Police Departments. With some remembering how "she was always the highlight of their morning". Missy had a love for cooking, baking, fishing, and reading books. She loved going to Lake Waynoka with her "Cousin / Sister / Best Friend" Lani Williams-They'd ride up together, trading off who controlled the music, then spend the day just relaxing and fishing. They were inseparable and their bond was unbreakable.
Missy loved her sisters Dawn and Juliet dearly. She was fiercely protective and would stab anybody for them because she always kept a knife on her. Her bond with her sisters was the heartbeat of her life-a three-woman circle no storm could break. The three sisters stood shoulder-to-shoulder through every joy, setback, and celebration, proving time and again that nothing could come between them.
Missy loved to throw epic parties for her great nieces and nephews; her favorite was Halloween and Christmas. Missy also invented "Nieces Day". Taking her nieces away for movies, dinners, and heart-to-heart talks that became treasured traditions. Missy loved her nephews. But they, on the other hand, got the "full Missy treatment": endless teasing, razor-sharp sarcasm, and just-barely-appropriate jokes that left them doubled over-usually punctuated by her trademark warning, "You know I have a knife, right?"
Above all else, Missy's world revolved around her two sons. Michael "Red" Wiley and Stephon Meadows. Their connection was unbreakable. Spontaneous lunch meet-ups, and giving them a playful hard time whenever she could. Missy beamed with pride as each son carved out his own path yet never drifted far from her side-proof that there was nothing they wouldn't do for her, and nothing she wouldn't do for them.
Missy had a lot of titles. Yet the title that topped them all was "Grandma." She delighted in "Grandma days," and even though she saw Paige, Payton, and Paisley (along with her bonus grandson "Jack Jack.") all the time, she still texted, "Send me pictures!"
Even while facing her own health struggles, Missy always greeted every day-and every person-with that big, happy smile. If she was having a bad day, you'd never know it, because Missy chose to brighten the world around her instead.
Missy is survived by a loving circle who will forever cherish her memory: Father – Samuel Lee Wiley; Children –Michael "Red" Wiley (Priscilla) and Stephon Meadows (Autumn); Siblings – Juliet Wiley, Dawn Wiley, Samara Wiley, Samuel "Toby" Wiley Jr. (Nichole) & Amber Thomas; Grandchildren – Paige, Payton, Paisley, and bonus grandson "Jack Jack"; Nieces – Micheala "Keeala" Perdue (Timothy Sr.) and Porsha-Marie Hendley (Dante); Nephews – Pierce Stallworth, Marquis Wiley, and Marqus Foster Sr.; Great Nieces and Nephews– Ascheli-Pierce, Timothy Jr., Zyaire, Marqus Jr., Kahlaila, Angelica, Annari, Avery, Shanell, Logan, Nylah, Rylan, Mahogany, Chance & Cali; Cousin (and best friend) – Lani Williams; Aunt– Gertrude Flanigan and Terri McKinley (Walter); Great Uncle – Oliver Williams and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and devoted Speedway regulars.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience-and a big smile that will never be forgotten.
