Benson, NC: Mrs. Melody Hargis Stephenson, age 73 of Aquila Road passed away on Sunday, November 2,2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Cashwell and Mr. Stephen Southers. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025 prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
Mrs. Stephenson was born on September 18, 1952 in Harnett County to the late Shelton Lee Hargis and Mabel Benson Parker. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie Hargis and Kenneth Hargis. Mrs. Stephenson retired from Nationwide Insurance as a claims adjuster after 40 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and sharing her vegetables with her friends. Mrs. Stephenson had a love for animals especially riding horses. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Stephenson and fiancé, Natasha Rice; granddaughter, Alexa Stephenson; sister, Margie McLamb; sister-in-law, Ann Hargis; nieces and nephews, Melissa Powell and husband, Brent, Justin McLamb and wife, Anna, Matthew McLamb and wife, Renna; several great-nieces and nephews; special pet, Prince.
