Melva Jean Englebright, 88, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away, September 15, 2025 at Bethel Manor in Evansville, IN. She was born April 14, 1937 in Mt Vernon, IN to Melvin and Katherine R. (Carman) Breeze.

Melva graduated from Mt. Vernon High School with the Class of 1955 and went on to attend Lockyear Business College. She worked for Posey County Rehab for over 20 years and was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Church. Melva was also active in the community as a member of the Posey County SRC, VFW Wadesville Post #6576, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Mt. Vernon Post #5.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Jerald W. Englebright, daughter, Jerri K. Juncker; sister, Phyllis Gentil; brother, Gerald Breeze; and a grandson, Tyler Englebright.

Melva is survived by her sons; Wade Englebright, Donald Englebright, and Jon Englebright; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Elizabeth, Randi, Kari, Alex, Kalee, Jordan, Allison and Kyle; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Pastor Jim Allen officiating and burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center – Mt Vernon.

A special thanks to the staff at Bethel Manor, her great-granddaughter Taylor, and the staff at Heritage Hospice for their compassion and care.
