Melvin Scott “Scooter” Beckstead
Sterling, Utah
Melvin Scott “Scooter” Beckstead, 43, of Sterling, passed away on December 12, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1982 in Gunnison, Utah to Scott and Emma Jean Owens Beckstead.
He married the love of his life on June 10, 2006, although Scooter would always say it was June 06, 2006 and he never missed an anniversary. Together they have had so many good times, trials and many adventures in raising their four kids.
Scooter loved to live on the edge from a young age, skydiving was the one he loved most and wanted to do again. Scooter always had his style and his own groove and loved to talk to people. Scooter was the most honest, fun loving, caring person. One of his favorite things was going and watching his kids perform in their activities like wrestling, playing violin, basketball, and any other activities. Scooter liked collecting things like Harley models, Zippo lighters, stamps, DVD's, and anything that caught his eye. He loved to ride his motorcycles, work on anything with a motor, especially "Pink Floyd". Scooter recently started working at skyline mine which he loved and bought a new truck which he was so proud of. He was very innovative with his business ventures. He was so proud of and loved to brag about all the adventures Him and Amanda were working on and how they were going to be the next greatest thing. He loved camping, fishing, raising his raccoons (Swayze and Bandit), being a Dad and bragging about how well his kids were doing in their involvements! He tested everything to the limits, and had to "Scootify" everything!!!
He has had many construction, welding, mechanic, and roofing jobs. Recently working for Skyline Mine.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Lynn Rimmasch Beckstead; Children: Kalob Andrew (McKayla) Rimmasch, Maliki Scooter, Mika Scooter, MandaLynn Scooter; granddaughter, Due in March; parents, Scott and Jean Beckstead; siblings: Angie (Bob) Thompson, Kimberly (Andy) Russell, Daniel “DA” Anderson, Elijah Blu (Alicia) Beckstead, Chad Albrecht and lots of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, some cousins, Aunts, Uncles, a niece, and too many friends.
