Mel was such a Kind and compassionate man, he always had a smile on his face every time I came to help him out a few years back, he loved to talk about his plane he had at the hanger and loved his wife Carol unconditionally. He Always referred to her as His Bride!

Melvin is my cousin's husband He's like a cousin to me. I have many fond memories of being with them together going to the Log for dinner and having their fabulous thousand island dressing on my salad. Going to Parkmore for hot fudge Sundaes! As a little girl we drove down Cline avenue on the way to the barn and Melvin would let me drive. I'd sit on his lap and let me steer the car. As I turned into a young teen he taught me how to drive in the field by Aunt Dorothy's house. I didn't have my permit at that point but I wanted to learn how to drive so he let me drive the car in the field. He always drove an Oldsmobile at that time and I always thought the emblem was pretty cool I think it was an airplane actually. Mel would bring home the pins that the stewardess wore for me to wear, somewhat encouraging me to become a stewardess when I grew up. I remember staying overnight at their first little house and when they got John dog. John Dog was Melvin's dog they were pretty much inseparable when he wasn't flying. I remember going to the house they were building on the backside of the barn and I remember walking the concrete slab with him and Carol. Mel was analyzing and inspecting the workmanship for their new home. Eventually John came along and that was the light of Melvin's life and then William came along!! Having a grandson was a dream come true for both Mel and Carol. My thoughts and my memories, a few of them to share.
Melvin you will be missed.
Your cuz, JoAnn
