Melvin Geick

September 17, 1937 - October 23, 2025

Melvin Henry Geick, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on October 23, 2025.

He was born September 17, 1937, to the late Melvin and Mae (Falis) Geick in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the VFW, FOE Eagles Club #104 and L.D.S.. Melvin was a master carpenter and woodworker and was also an avid card player. Melvin retired from Pella Window.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Jo Dee Geick; sons, Donald Mark and Vance Edward; granddaughter, Sara Olivia; father, Melvin Geick; mother, Mae Geick; brothers, Donald, Gordon, William, Thomas and Leslie; sisters, Patsy, Doris and Sally.

Melvin is survived by son, Steven Geick of Council Bluffs; grandsons, Brandon Hanson of Des Moines, Iowa, Clayton of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Tyler of Waterloo, Nebraska; sister, Cora Lee Koel of Rock Rapids, Iowa and Cheri Lynn Haight of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and many niece, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
