Melvin Green, age 95 of Adamsville passed away with family by his side on August 26, 2025.
He was born on January 10, 1930 to Claude and Delura Green in Labuca, Alabama. He grew up in the Adamsville community, and later served his country in the U.S. Army.. Melvin worked for U.S.Steel for 40 years before his retirement.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda Click Green; stepson, Curtis Kemp; son-in-law, Gary Dunlap; grandchildren, Brian Neal; Keith Wylie.
He is survived by his daughters, Marie (George) Ramsden, Elaine Dunlap; stepdaughter, Krysti Miller; former wife and friend, Dolores Weeks, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Melvin owned Green Excavating, and he loved digging and playing in the dirt with his front-end loader and other excavation equipment.
He had an infinity for clocks of all kinds and had them all over his home. Collecting them was a little special hobby.
Being a train operator/conductor, he took pleasure in trains, especially riding them. The rhythmic rumbling and rocking of train's motion and soothing views of nature and small towns along the tracks soothed gave him a peaceful feeling.
Visitation will be held at Crestview Memorial FH, Adamsville, AL on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM.
Funeral services will be held immediately after visitation. Burial will take place in the Crestview Memorial Gardens.
