It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Melvin "Bunsey" Gregory, who left this world on October 13, 2025. Born on January 22, 1960, in Philadelphia, PA, Bunsey's infectious spirit and strong will left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He then moved to New Orleans, LA, where he met and married Michelle Bratton and had two children before settling in Pennsauken, New Jersey, where he warmly embraced the community. As the poet Rumi once said, "Don't grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form."

Bunsey was a man of remarkable resilience and strength. He was educated in Camden City School District. He worked at the Winn-Dixie warehouse as a forklift driver. His dedication and commitment were an inspiration to all who worked alongside him. Bunsey was not only a devoted worker, but he also had a profound love for his family especially Uncle Ernest "Junie" Downey, Aunt Audrey, Aunt Bebe, nephew G-Man, nieces Selena, Chanel, cousins Wiggles, Troy, Romina.

Preceding him in death were his father, Melvin Eugene Gregory and his daughter, Mykell Gregory his sons Rashan "Rock" Finney, Michael "Mickey" Williams, his granddaughter Mytierre Boyd.

His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Michelle Gregory, and his sons, Melvin (Melissa) Finney, Terrell (Jasmine) Brown, Datrell Gregory daughter Natimah Barge his mother Shirley Downey-Gregory, brothers Marvin, David Gregory, sisters Gail, Celest Gregory, grandchildren Melezie, Daysiana, Damira, Mariah, Emilie, Carmelo. A host of family and friends. Some special friends Collie Wop, Ray Covington, Saalam, Michael Pratt, Dixon. As Maya Angelou beautifully expressed, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Bunsey's kindness, love, and undying commitment to those around him will forever be remembered.

In remembering Bunsey, let us not focus on the sorrow of his passing but instead celebrate the joy he brought into our lives. We encourage friends and family to share their memories, stories, and photos of Bunsey on his memorial page. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
