In Loving Memory of John "JJ" William Johnston

John William Johnston, affectionately known as "JJ," was born on July 25, 1956, at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, to the late Arthur R. Johnston and Velma "Jackie" Leffel Johnston. He peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

From a young age, John had an unwavering love for football. His passion for the game led him to become a proud member of the State Championship Football Team at Triton Regional High School in Runnemede, New Jersey, where he graduated with the Class of 1975.

Immediately following graduation, John joined the Pennsylvania National Guard (1975–1976), serving his country with pride. He later enlisted in the United States Army, where he trained as a Military Police Officer at Fort Gordon, Georgia in 1976.

John continued his career in security, eventually becoming Head of Security for Associated Security Specialist, Inc., where he dedicated more than 20 years of loyal service before his retirement.

On July 29, 2006, a beautiful union was formed when John married Sheila Brown (Johnston). From that day forward, they were inseparable. Their shared love of football, camping, dinner visits, and Wildwood vacations created countless cherished memories.

John's bubbly personality made him the life of every gathering. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome wherever he went. Everyone who met him loved him. A devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, John was known for his passion for the game and his unwavering team spirit.

John leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sheila Johnston; two daughters, Nicole Johnston and Alex Johnston; one son, Brandon Johnston; three stepchildren, Petrina Ray (Jonathan Ray), Brian Collins, and Corey Scott; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen Johnston (Pat); one sister, Sandy Werner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur R. and Velma (Jackie) Johnston, and his beloved son, Jon Pierre Johnston.

John's legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. His presence brightened every room, and his heart knew no limits. His memory will forever live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Fly high, JJ.
