He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Mae Peazant; brothers, David Peazant Jr. and Harold Peazant; nieces, LaVeatrice D. Peazant and Andrea Maris Peazant; and nephew, David R.
Peazant.
Melvin was a hard working man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He especially loved gardening, playing pool, people, dogs, and Jazz music. Melvin enjoyed barbecuing anything that would fit on one of his many grills, he took great pride in preparing food and feeding his family and friends, he also frequently helped his neighbors with yard maintenance. His hobbies reflected his warmth, love and skills for bringing people together.
A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1976, Melvin took pride in his education and the lifelong friendships he made during those years, he enlisted in the United States Army on November 11, 1982 and served 8 years as a Infantryman.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: daughters, Lynadia D. Hedger and Domanquie Ezell; and son, Courtney Stallworth, Grandsons: Kendan Watts, Juniez Ezell and several other grandchildren.
Melvin was deeply connected to his loved ones and found true joy in spending time with family.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Linda Peazant-Jackson; brothers, Thomas (Rosemary) Peazant, Don Peazant, and Cleo (Ann) Peazant of Navarre, FL. Cherished nieces include; Leslie S. Williamson of Douglasville, Ga., Nikena D. Peazant-Gadson of Pensacola, FL; nephews, Cleo Jr. (Corrina) Peazant of Navarre, FL, Duane A. Peazant, and Donald L. Peazant of Pensacola, FL; great-nephews, Brandon Williamson, Donovan Williamson of Douglasville, Ga., Andre (Cindy) Peazant of Pensacola, FL, Tabias Peazant, Dairus (Maria) Peazant of Navarre, FL; great-nieces, Camryn Williamson, Lauryn Williamson of Douglasville, Ga., Starr Peazant, Angell Traywick, Kayli Peazant, and Yvonne (Jasmine)Ford of Navarre, FL; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends in Pensacola, Florida.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM and Service at 12:00 PM at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, FL 32503 Followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery
