Melvin V. Karnitz, age 93, passed away May 1, 2024. Melvin was born March 10, 1931, in Mankato, Minnesota, and was raised in Belle Plaine, Minnesota.
He graduated from Mankato State College, served in the Navy, and worked for the State of Minnesota for 32 years. Melvin had many interests. He was an avid and excellent card player, and he could do just about any home repair and building project. He loved being outdoors, raising fantastic tomatoes that he shared with his family and friends, as well as fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved sharing his knowledge with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, of 64 years, and sons Larry (Sara Felts) and Lee, as well as 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
