Melvin Allen McClure, a cherished family man and friend to many, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 83, in
Canon City, Colorado. Born on January 30, 1942, in Lamar, Colorado, to the late Milo Strong and Vivian Elisa, Melvin was a beacon of kindness and generosity throughout his life.
Melvin grew up surrounded by his loving family, including his siblings, Janice King, Milo D. (Barbara) McClure, Jerry (Josephine) McClure, Vicki (Louis) Seiford, and Kenneth (Christine) McClure. He was preceded in death by his brother James Linden McClure and his beloved grandson Cord Lee McClure. Melvin's legacy continued through his devoted children, Michael (Lynn) McClure, Timothy (Lucia) McClure, and Tammy (Ryan) Hauer, and was further enriched by his nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
On June 6, 1965, Melvin married the love of his life, Frances Elaine Edwards, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. Melvin was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His passion for fishing, camping, and embracing the great outdoors was matched only by his love for the holidays and family gatherings.
A skilled and selfless man, Melvin spent countless hours after work lending his expertise to fix friends and family's automobiles. His hands were rarely still, as he found purpose and fulfillment in helping others in any way he could. Melvin's inherent kindness and handy nature made him a beloved figure in his community.
Melvin's professional life was marked by his dedication and hard work. But it was his role as a family man that truly defined him. Melvin's unwavering support and love for his family were the cornerstones of his life.
