Melvin Leroy St. John, born on March 29, 1938, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025.
Melvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Betty St. John, and his son, Terry St. John. He is survived by his five children, who carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. Melvin was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 30 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Family was at the center of Melvin’s life as his favorite memories were those surrounded by them. He will be remembered for his steady presence, generous heart, and the deep love he held for those around him. His stories, wisdom, and quiet humor will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.
Melvin’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the generations of family who will continue to honor his memory and strive to make him proud.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to the Water View Firehouse, 4583 Water View Rd., Water View, Virginia 23180.
