Funeral service for Mr. Melvin Lee Testamand will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Leeville Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 3-7 P.M. and Wednesday after 10 AM at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Testamand, age 79 of Lebanon passed away January 16, 2026, at Quality Care in Lebanon.
Born December 28, 1946, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Hollis Ezra Testamand and Mary Christine Mathis Testamand. He grew up on a farm in Norene, working along with his family and milking cows. At the age of sixteen, he was baptized at the Vine Church of Christ. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1964, and was soon inducted in the United States Army where he served in Washington State and worked as the head cook. After he was discharged, he went to work at TRW Ross Gear, and retired after thirty three and a half years. He served as the U.A.W. steward for many years. Melvin did custom farm work for people over the years, and raised horses. He loved everything John Deere, and owning many tractors, even helping restore his father’s tractor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Mathis, and a brother, Don Testamand.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty two years, Sandy Wilkerson Testamand; brother, Eddie (Connie) Testamand; sister in law, Annette Testamand; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers: Paul Walpole, Wayne Hicks, Phillip Hight, Ricky Haskin, and Jerry Davis.
Active pallbearers: Clark & Mark Mathis, Nathaniel Overstreet, Jonathan Testamand, Sam Shields, and Cody Cripps.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Compassionate Hands or to All For Him Ministries.
