Merced Martinez, 93, retired St. Francis Hospital Nurse, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Merced was born September 24, 1930 in Lewis, KS to Felipe and Maximina Florez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Martinez, her son, Albert R. Martinez, her daughter, Nancy Byrum; brothers, Basilio, Alex and Gilbert Florez; sisters, Belen Sanchez and Rosa Cortez. Survivors include her sons, Raymond and wife, Sally Martinez, Felipe Martinez and Martin and wife, Ronda Martinez, her daughter, Adela Winegarner, 23 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
