Meredith Clemons Obituary

Meredith P. Clemons (Nylic) formerly of Pittsfield, MA passed away in Georgia, VT on January 26, 2021, surrounded by her loving daughters.

She was the wife of the late Gerald (Jerry) S. Clemons, who died on March 26, 2017. They were married on February 11, 1967.

Meredith (Mert) was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 30, 1944 to Andrew and Pauline (Rash) Nylic. A graduate of Pittsfield High School. After 25 years of service at Walmart she retired in 2017 due to illness.

Meredith was a devoted caring and loving grandmother, mother, wife, aunt and friend. She enjoyed doing puzzles, bird watching, listening to Country music, keeping in touch with family and friends via Facebook and laughing at her three dogs. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. Christmas was her favorite holiday as she took pride in hosting the annual family Christmas Eve parties. She was so proud of her family, and did not hesitate to vocalize it, especially when it came to her grandchildren.

Meredith is survived by her two daughters, Charlene M. McDonnell (Bernard) of Georgia, VT, and Michele D. White of Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves five grandchildren, Renee L. Procopio-Melino (Richie) of North Andover, MA, Paul J. Procopio, Jr., (Gillian) of Pittsfield, MA, Kodey A. White (Emily Deaso) of Pittsfield, MA, Galina M. McDonnell of Methuen, MA and Tara G. McDonnell of Burlington, VT as well as two great-granddaughters Vincenza (Vinnie) and Francesca (Frankie) Melino and great-grandson due to arrive in July 2021.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded by her son in-law whom she adored James E. White, her brothers, Bobby and Joey Nylic and a sister Shirley Marcel.

Meredith also leaves behind an extended family; however, she had a special place in her heart for her great-niece, Sara J. Clemons as well as her great-great nieces, Cortnee A. Clemons and Kyleigh Y. Pannesco.

Meredith's family would like to thank the Hospice Team at Franklin Home Health Care Agency, specifically Hannah, Sheree, Heather, Stephanie and Carol. A special thank you to the Hospice Volunteers Joanne & Linda for providing companionship and conversation over the past few years. Mom looked forward to the pre-Covid visits and she enjoyed reading the cards she received weekly from Joanne. You all will forever be in our hearts.

Per Meredith's request no services will be held, however a celebration of life will be announced at a later date that will include food and LOTS of good desserts.

Donations in Meredith's memory can be made to Hospice of Western and Central MA or the Berkshire Humane Society.

Assisting the Clemons family is the Heald Funeral Home, where messages of condolence and sharing of memories are welcome at www.healdfuneralhome.com.
