Meredith Heger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Affinity All Faiths Mortuary - Wichita on Dec. 9, 2025.
Meredith Lee Heger,

passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 92. Born on June 26, 1933, in Lamar, Missouri, to the late Virbyle and Hallie (Garrison) Baggs, Meredith's journey was one marked by love, dedication, and an enduring commitment to her family. As a long-time member of St. Anne Catholic Church her involvement in the church community showed the strength of her faith-filled life. Meredith's interests were family, reading and word puzzles. She was a bookkeeper for 30+ years until she retired. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Heger and 2 brothers and 1 sister. She was a beloved mother to Janet Johnson of Wichita, KS, John (Lori) Heger of Maize, KS, Thomas (Nancy) Heger of Austin, TX, Martin (Shilo) Heger of Manhattan, KS, and Tricia Heger of Plattsmouth, NE. Her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren were a joy in her life, each one cherished and adored by their grandmother. Her ability to listen, her willingness to help, and her readiness to give without expecting anything in return were qualities that defined her life. Meredith's legacy is one of unwavering love and profound impact. As we gather to honor her memory, let us remember the joy and light she brought into this world. A graveside service to celebrate Meredith's life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, located at 6231 W. 47th Street S., Wichita, KS. Meredith's life was a journey of faith and love. As we bid farewell, let us carry forward the lessons she taught us through her example - to live with kindness, to give generously, and to cherish the family and faith that bind us together. Rest in peace, Meredith Lee Heger, and may your legacy of love and devotion resonate for generations to come.
