Meredith Ann Medler

Meredith Ann Medler, 85, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Aspirus-St. Luke’s Hospital.

Meredith was born August 6, 1940 to John Thomas and Priscilla (Hobbs) Medler in Minneapolis. She graduated from MadisonWest High School in 1958, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Iowa City University, the University of North Dakota, and the University of Marburg, Germany. She earned her Master’s Degree of History, and taught at St. Cloud State University where she was Department Head for three years, before retiring.

Meredith was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed travel with Cal, especially to Germany, her Boxer dogs, volunteer work, camping, canoeing, and fishing in the BWCA, time with Cal and family and friends, and in earlier years, summers at the cabin in Ely.

Meredith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Calvin Gruver; brothers, Michael and Melvin Medler; and sister, Marcia Medler.

She is survived by a brother, Marcus Medler; step-brother, Tom Curtis; and nieces and nephews.
