Merietta Loudermilk Jones, age 81, of Lakemont, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025. She was born on January 16, 1944, to the late Cecil and Lillie Loudermilk.

A lifelong resident of Lakemont, Merietta was a devoted member of Lakemont Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as church clerk for several years. She was a 1962 graduate of Rabun County High School. After graduation, she worked for local businesses, Rabun County Commissioner's Office, and retired from Georgia Power. She treasured traveling with her family and was proud to have visited all 50 states. Her steady presence, kind spirit, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Marshall Jones; her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Cody Harris; her cherished grandchildren, Will and Emily Harris; her sister, Lynette Patton; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Janie Loudermilk, Eddie and Linda Jones, Randall Patton, Gail Lewis, and Sheryl Irwin. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lillie Loudermilk; her sister, Martha Loudermilk; her brothers, Bobby Loudermilk, Jimmy Loudermilk, and Leon Loudermilk; and sister-in-law Brenda Jones.

The family will receive friends and family at Lakemont Baptist Church on Thursday, June 19th at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lakemont Baptist Church, 608 West Wolfcreek Road, Lakemont, GA 30552.
