Merle Adele Striekert Cobb, 95, passed away in the early morning of December 11th, 2025 in Brenham, Texas. Merle was born October 2,1930 in Houston, Texas to Herbert Frederick Striekert and Dula Benita Louise Jahnke Striekert.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert Roland (Bob) Cobb. She is survived by her two children Karee Kimbro of Houston and Cameron Cobb of Dripping Springs, her grandchildren Ryan Kimbro of Denver, Kellee Kimbro, partner Elliot and great granddaughter Harper of San Francisco.

Merle cherished her family and many friends. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston and attended 2 years at TCU in Fort Worth. Merle and Bob enjoyed their life in Houston working and raising their children. After her children were grown Merle accepted a position with Elf Aquitaine as a graphic designer. After their retirement in 1998 Merle and Bob shared a happy life together at their country home near Brenham.

Merle was a talented artist and illustrator throughout her life. Merle was a kind, loving, and thoughtful person with many friends in Houston and Brenham. Merle will be deeply missed but never forgotten.


Service will be held Wednesday January 7th at 1 p.m., Brenham Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brenham Presbyterian Church.
