Merle was born in Minneapolis, MN, the seventh child of ten. He retired from Western Electric after 32 years. His Christian faith was important to him. He was a gentleman and treated people well (most of the time!).
Merle will be deeply missed by his wife, Gale; son, Steven; daughter, Denise; daughter-in-law, Debora; grandchildren, Corey and Elizabeth (Michael) Howard; great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Brynn. He is further survived by many wonderful relatives and beloved friends. As the last surviving member of his family, he was preceded in death by all nine of his siblings.
Visitation will begin at 10am until time of service at 11am on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Dr, Mounds View, MN 55112. Luncheon to follow service.
