Merle David Gutberlet, 59, of Columbus went home to be with the Lord at 8:30am on Sunday September 10, 2023, at his earthly home. Merle was born on May 30, 1964, in Marietta, a son of Earl F. and Janice S. Gutberlet. He was a graduate of Frontier High School and Cedarville University. He worked at Medibill in the mailroom, where he met his wife Lori S Gutberlet (nee Kelly), before working at Nationwide as a trainer for many years. He was a member of Parsons Baptist Church and loved the Lord and singing hymns. He read his Bible daily and sang with Ron Hamilton songs almost daily. Merle is survived by Lori, his wife of 34 years, and by his daughters RaeAnn, Jessica, and Nancy, as well as by his brothers Earl (Linda) Gutberlet of PA, Mick (Cheryl) Gutberlet of SC. He is also survived by his Aunt Julia & Uncle Ron Wright & Aunt Elaine Mace, and by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Debbie S Huffman, and his niece Sarah S Huffman. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Parsons Baptist Church, 3930 Parsons Ave, Columbus, Oh 43207. Burial will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. There will be one hour of visitation before the funeral. The only thing Merle requested is no flowers. Please make any donations to Parsons Baptist Church.
