Merle passed away, Friday, August 29, 2025 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Merle Gene Rambousek was born June 13, 1952 in Dickinson, ND to Tony and Edith (Kubas) Rambousek. He grew up on the family farm north of Belfield. Merle attended school in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1970. After school he enlisted in the North Dakota National Guards. It was during this time that Merle met Cynthia Privratsky and the two were married on October 30, 1972. They were blessed with three sons, Jason, Derek and Brent. Merle owned and operated his own business, Dickinson Oil Equipment, where he serviced fuel pumps throughout the area for a number of years. He later worked several other jobs before operating his own trucking company, Merle's Trucking, he retired in 2014.

Merle's pride and joy were his grandchildren. He cherished his time with them, especially taking them to Medora, where he would spoil them at the candy store. He also made it a special point to call each of his loved ones on their birthdays so he could serenade them with his best version of "Happy Birthday." Merle enjoyed hunting, fishing and in later years, playing golf with his family. He regularly made time to join the coffee group at Rosie's. Merle was also a very skilled woodworker and the best person to call when it came to fixing anything in need of repair. Merle was a very giving person that always made time to help whenever it was needed.

Merle is survived by his sons, Derek (Shannon) Rambousek, Dickinson; Brent (Jasmine) Rambousek, West Fargo; grandchildren, Dacia, Emily, Keira, Bella, Medora, Colton, Jaxon and Sierra; great-grandson, Leo; siblings, Norma (Don) Wehri, Glen Ullin, ND; LeeAnn (Gene) Koppinger, Baker, MT; Loren (Marlease) Rambousek, Dickinson; numerous nieces and nephews.
