Merv Hawkins Obituary
Merv Hawkins, age 63, of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Merv was born Thursday, September 14, 1961 in Graham County, NC to Leon and Carolyn Hawkins who reside in Murrells Inlet, SC. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1979. Merv was a talented artistic draftsman. He worked for Eaton Corporation for several years and in the architectural design business in Charlotte for many years. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed golfing and had a successful football career while playing for the Chase High School football team.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his son, Ethan Hawkins; brothers, Joe Hawkins (Susan) of Linville, NC and Mark Hawkins (LeAnn) of Olin, NC and his “favorite sister” Susan Outen of Rutherfordton.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Leroy Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
