EUNICE~ On Saturday, April 06, 2024, the world bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Mervin St. Andre. At the age of 85, Mervin passed away unexpectedly, leaving a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery in Lawtell with Father Hampton Davis, officiating.
On April 19, 1938, Mervin was the beloved son of Henry and Bernice Miller St. Andre. His passion for assisting others and his penchant for collecting odds and ends were emblematic of his kind and generous nature. A fervent enthusiast of wrestling, he found joy in the sport like no other.
Mervin will forever be cherished by those closest to him, particularly by his devoted wife of sixty years, Lorenza V. St. Andre of Eunice; his loving daughters, Maranda Cunningham (Charles) and Veronica St. Andre, both residing in Eunice. He held a special place in his heart for his grandson, Charles Patrick Cunningham, II of Eunice. Mervin is also survived by his dear sisters Ida Ozenne, Barbara Fuselier (Ronald), Brenda St. Andre, along with his brothers Bervin St. Andre (Bertha Ann), Roland St. Andre, Hilton “T-Boy” St. Andre, Lawrence “Larry” St. Andre (Patricia) from various locations.
In addition to his memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones, Mervin now joins his parents and siblings Everett St. Andre and Laura St. Andre in eternal peace.
At the request of the family visitation will be held on April 11th at Ardoin’s Funeral Home from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 12:15 pm led by Deacon Gary Gaudin.
