Mrs. Mervin Lee Webb, 84, of Homerville passed away Monday evening, April 28, 2025, at her residence after a short illness. She was born in Dodge County, GA to the late Edward M. Wright and Nancy Johnson Wright and lived in Homerville most of her life. Mrs. Webb retired in 2006 as the Food Service Manager for the Homerville State Prison. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, the Red Hat Ladies, and was active with the Senior Citizen Center until recently. Mrs. Webb loved sewing, baking, cooking, and especially crocheting.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Webb, Sr.; son-in-law, Glynn “Weasel” Whittington; two sons, Tommy Webb and Teddy Webb.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Whittington of Homerville; daughter-in-law, Brenda Stone of Baxley; six grandchildren, Jeff and Courtney Whittington, Annie and Sam Henderson, Will Webb, Allison and Chad Carpenter, Shane Webb, and Matthew Webb; five great grandchildren, Oaklynn, Baker, and Bodi Whittington, Bo and Katie Carpenter; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Faye Wright of Dublin, GA; four sisters, Michelle Greer of Jacksonville, FL, Alice Faye Oxford of Eastman, Patricia Wright of Valdosta, and Barbara J. Andrews of Dublin, GA; special nieces and nephews; special friends for many years, Pat Joyce and Lottie Bruce; caretakers, Sara Davis, Edna Williams, and Ansley Selph.
A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, May 2, 2025, at 3 pm at Trinity Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 pm at Trinity Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 261 Wood Lake Drive, Homerville, GA 31634 or Whittington Ministries, 72 Jesse Steedley Farm Rd., Homerville, GA 31634.
