Meryl C. Dugent
Of Richmond, VA, passed away on November 8, 2022. She was 96 years old. Beloved wife of the late Paul A. Dugent. Loving mother of Paul J. Dugent (Linda), Carol Lynn Rosen (David), and Lisa Meryl Luhowy (Ted). Devoted grandmother of Steven Dugent (Heidi), Stacey Worthington (Brian), Michelle Miles (Christopher), Karl Rosen (Heather), Dana Rosen, Hunter Luhowy and Logan Luhowy. Great grandmother of 9. Born and raised in the Cramer Hill Section of Camden, NJ and graduated from Camden High School, she moved to Philadelphia following her marriage to Paul in 1949, she moved to Somers Point, NJ in 1963 and later West Chester, PA where she lived for 42 years. She has been living in the Richmond, Virginia area since 2009. She was Past Matron of the Athene Chapter of the Eastern Star (her father had been Grand Master of New Jersey's Masonic Lodge in 1956). She was active in churches and sang in the choir in the various communities in which she lived, especially in Grove United Methodist Church in West Chester. She was a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed bowling wither her friends. Her family, however, was the most important part of her life. Family is invited to a viewing at 9:30am on Monday, November 21 and will receive friends at 10:00 am. A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Meryl will be held at 10:30am, all at Christus Evangelical Lutheran Church, 909 N. 26th St., Camden, NJ. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
