Micaela B. Aleman

Micaela "Mickey" Rodriguez Aleman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted servant of God, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 14, 1934, at the O'Connor Ranch in Refugio County. Micaela lived a life grounded in faith, family, and service. She was married for 71 years to the love of her life, Refugio Delgado Aleman.

Micaela was a proud graduate of Nazareth Academy, Class of 1953. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, serving in many ways throughout the years. She was a CCD teacher for over 40 years, sharing her love of God with generations of children.

She is survived by husband, Refugio Aleman, Children, Cathy Hinojosa (Nick Hinojosa Jr.), Patricia Quiroz (Dr. Anthony Quiroz), Christopher Aleman (Veronica Aleman), and

Paul Aleman (Yolie Borjon). Sister, Genevive Martinez (Robert) and sister-in-law, Beatrice Rodriguez. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Preceded in death by parents and grandsons, Steven Quiroz and Kegan Aleman. Sisters and spouses; Susie and Jack Lewright, Teresa and Rudy Hernandez, Antonia and Robert Bocanegra. Brothers and spouses; Gumesindo and Ruby Rodriguez, Joe and Rachel Rodriquez and brother Ted Rodriguez.

Micaela will be remembered for her strong spirit, unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and all the lessons she taught us. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers and nurses at His Safe Harbor and New Century Hospice. Thank you to Del, Amanda, Lori, and neighbor Caroline Garza, we will be eternally grateful for your compassionate and loving care of our mother.

Pallbearers will include Daniel Hinojosa, Eric Quiroz, Cruz Aleman, Lee Galvan, Kevin Dunne, Marc Hinojosa. Honorary pallbearer, Capt. Ethan Aleman, US Army. Floral committee to include Stephanie Hinojosa-Galvan and Lisa Dunne.

Services will be on Monday, February 16, and will begin at 8 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to begin at 9 a.m. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery located on Red River and Main Street.

Prayer for Those Who Mourn Jesus, you who wept at the death of Lazarus and gave comfort to widows and orphans, be with us now as we mourn. Comfort us in our sorrow, strengthen our faith and deepen our hope in the Resurrection. Help us experience your presence among us. Amen.
