Micah Mabe Obituary

Micah Stanford Mabe, a cherished husband, son, and friend, passed away on November 24, 2024, in Cumming, Georgia, at the age of 32. Micah was known for his dedication to his wife, his family, his therapy clients, his friends, and his community, leaving behind a legacy of passion, love, and kindness. Anyone who knew Micah knew he had a BIG heart and an incredible zest for life.
Micah's life and career was marked by his love of Jesus and commitment to helping others with their lives. He was a respected figure in his field, admired for his leadership and the positive impact he had on those he served and all those around him.
He was a graduate of Covent College and obtained dual Master's degrees in both Family and Marriage therapy from Richmont Graduate University. His passion for his work was only rivaled by his dedication to his wife, Taylor, his family, his friends, being the best Uncle Micah to his many nephews and those he so faithfully served in his practice.
His life epitomized his life verse, Micah 6:8, "and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
In 2019, Micah married Taylor, his "Texas girl", the love of his life, with whom he shared many joyful years. They shared being VERY adventurous, a love for US and global travel and including sky diving and paragliding in Switzerland. Routine for them but a source of MAJOR consternation to his mother, Penny! Micah was a devoted husband and son, always encouraging others to follow their dreams with the same passion he demonstrated in his own life.
He was well known in Georgia and Tennessee for his baseball pitching prowess and a wicked changeup. His senior year at Lambert High in Suwanee he was selected as Pitcher of the Year for Georgia in Conference 7-A. He holds the first No-Hitter for Perimeter School in the 8th grade, a precursor of what was to come. His accomplishments on the field include setting the Covenant College strikeout record of 13 batters versus Lagrange College, and being in 3 Georgia State Baseball Championships, one at Wesleyan High School and two with Lambert High. His first year at the brand new Lambert High, there were no seniors, a real distinction. He also made the All-Academic team while at Covenant College.
Micah was an active member of his community, generously giving his time to various organizations and ministries. Micah was an active member of his community, generously giving his time to various organizations and ministries. He had a real love for constant learning, especially in his field of family, marriage, and sexual addiction therapy. He was achieving and highly motivated, earning several high level and specialty therapy certifications from around the country.
An avid outdoorsman, Micah enjoyed spending time in nature, landscaping anything at his house that didn't move quickly enough, bow hunting, fishing, golfing, coaching little league and just being outdoors.
Micah is survived by his beloved wife, Taylor of Cumming, Georgia; his mother and father, Penny and Jerry Mabe of Cumming, Georgia; and his sister, Joy Mabe Guven and brother-in-law, Anthony (Tony) Guven of Milton, Georgia. Also, his nephews, Asher Guven, Ryan, Noah, and Weston Dempsey along with Brayden and Hudson Franklin. He was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle.
A memorial service was held on December 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the chapel at Perimeter Church. Consider using the Peachtree Parkway entrance to avoid the driveway barriers on the Old Alabama Road side of the church due to school access. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HopeQuest Ministries (https://hopequestgroup.org), Woodstock, Georgia, in Micah's honor and memory.

To the Mabe Family, I was deeply saddened to learn of Micah´s passing while referring him to a friend seeking a therapist for her teenage son. Micah counseled my middle-school son in 2022, and his kindness, wisdom, and faith left a lasting impact on our family. He was an incredible man of God and a compassionate therapist who guided my child with care and insight.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am truly grateful for the influence he had on my son´s life, and my family will be holding yours in our prayers.

Penny, Jerry and Joy (and all of Micah's loved ones. This completely broke my heart when I saw that Micah went on to be with Jesus. I have not seen you all in years, but I think of all of you sooooooo often. I have many fond memories with your family and cherish all the time I spent with Micah and Joy when they were little. My heart aches for all of you. You were and still are a very special family to me. Micah was the most tender, sweet young boy and I am sure he remained that way and meant so much to many. May you find peace during this time. My sincerest condolences! ❤ Lisa

Micah has always been an amazing individual. I was honored to be a teammate of his during our time together at Covenant College and as part of the baseball team. He always treated me as a brother and shared a similar respect for each other. His spirit was infectious and seemed to always shine a bright light for all to see. We will dearly miss him and I will always hold the memories I had with him as a friend and teammate close to my heart!

I came to know Micah growing up at Perimeter Church. I can honestly say, he was on of the best men I know. He was so genuine and inclusive. I can honestly say I've never met anyone so nice. He always had something nice to say and would really talk to you. I looked up to Micah as the man that I aspire to be and to learn from his example. I could truly see God thriving in Micah's heart. He was a gentleman's gentleman and he bore the fruit of the spirit. To me he was the ultimate example of what it means to be a man of God and I will miss him dearly.

Micah was an incredible human being with a huge heart for people and was one of the most caring individuals I have ever known. He always welcomed me with a huge smile when I met with him and was genuinely interested in what I had to say and share . He spoke often about his wife and the fun they had together and it was always obvious how much he loved his family. I believe that God puts special people in your life at just the right time and Micah was most certainly one of those people in my life. I will miss him .
