Michael Lawrence Andrews

In the early morning hours of December 28, 2024, Michael "Mike" Andrews passed away at home due to a massive heart attack. He was survived by his partner Christine Taves, daughters Ariel Andrews and Paige Taves, son Austin Taves, Mother Diana Rawls, and brother William Andrews, as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved, who also loved to use him as a jungle gym. He was preceded in death by his father Randolph "Randy" Andrews.
Mike was a creative artist and craftsman, always working on something with his hands, new ideas and projects often scattered on his worktable. He loved to have something to do and often ended up being the one called when something needed fixing. He was a "Jack of All Trades", usually with some knowledge about what was needed, or the ability to Frankenstein a solution together if he wasn't sure.
Mike was a family man, centering his life around those he called his own, and willing to help whoever needed it. He was a patriotic, protective, caring person that liked to be prepared for anything. Whatever you needed, Mike was reliable.
Mike liked to talk about when he was a bounty hunter. He loved the adrenaline in it, the success of catching someone that needed catching. It was fitting for someone so strong and stubborn, someone who often made himself the bodyguard of his people. But he was also an animal lover, kind and generous with people, and the random animal in need on the side of the road. In his free time, when he wasn't making something or taking care of his plants, he often liked to play Xbox, some of his favorites being Minecraft and Tanks.
Mike was well-loved and gone too soon. His service will be held on January 11, 2025, at 11:00am with a one hour viewing, and service to start at 12:00pm located at Dudley Funeral Home at 1108 N Dixie Fwy, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. In lieu of flower arrangements- which his beloved cats would eat- we would like to honor his love of gardening with a potted plant we can add to his ever-expanding garden.
