Michael Arndorfer, 68 of Algona, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at his home in Clear Lake, Iowa. Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Bishop Garrigan Chapel in Algona from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM with a prayer service beginning at 10:30 AM. Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Algona.
Michael Walter Arndorfer, the son of Arnold and Theresa (Courtney) Arndorfer, was born on February 9, 1957 in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1975. Michael served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He then served in the Iowa Army National Guard. Michael was deployed to Kosovo and then to Michigan to help provide border security during the Gulf War.
Michael worked at Cargill in Algona and later he worked as an orderly at Kossuth Regional Health Center for 27 years. He was a member of the American Legion. Michael enjoyed watching professional sports and hanging out at Johnny's in Wesley.
Left to cherish Michael's memory are his siblings, Tom Arndorfer of Clear Lake, Diane Arndorfer of Rochester, MN, Lynn (Dennis) Gilson of Marion, Jan (Charles) Frideres of Algona and Lori (John) Daly of Waukee; a special niece, Meagan Scott and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Mark Arndorfer and brother, John Arndorfer; a special Uncle Art Arndorfer; and sisters-in-law, Susie Arndorfer, Cathy and Marilyn Arndorfer.
