MOUNT PLEASANT - Michael J Baus passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 70 with his family lovingly at his side.
Born April 14, 1953 to Raymond and Marcedes (nee: Stender) Baus. He served in the United States Army after graduating from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. While he was stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Malama (nee: Malo) and they were married on July 23, 1977.
Mike was a welder for many years prior to his career at Harley Davidson. He retired from Harley
Davidson in 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of his retirement.
Mike was always very generous and had a big heart. He took pride in volunteering his services and giving back to the community. Mike especially enjoyed volunteering for the Walking School Bus for Knapp Elementary and happily served as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. Mike enjoyed doing yard work, yoga, bike rides, hiking and the great outdoors. He was a member of the EAA and had a love for aviation. He was an amazing role model for his children and very devoted to his family.
Mike was a loving husband to Malama for 46 years. Devoted father to Anthony (Allison) Baus, Angie (Nick) Kuncytes, and Jeremy Baus. Beloved grandfather to Gabriel and Emmanuel Baus; Hayden and Camden Kuncytes. Brother to Lisa (Becky) Baus, Steve (Kim) Baus, Gary Baus, Dennis (Ginnie Graika) Baus and Dean Baus. Uncle to Brandy (Chris) Spaulding, their children, Emma, Alli and Chase Spaulding; Tim (Amy Marquardt) Lampman and son, Cole Lampman; (John Tretow) and sons, Jake and Nathan Tretow; and Sarah Baus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Debra (nee: Baus) Lampman; brother-in-law, Dennis Lampman and niece, Shannon (nee: Lampman) Tretow.
Special thanks to Ascension All Saints Cancer Center and Ascension Franklin Hospital for all their care, as well as the Blood Banks of Wisconsin.
Per Mike's wishes there will not be any services. Family is requesting if you would like to honor Mike, to please donate to the Blood Banks of Wisconsin or a memorial to the American Cancer Society.
