Michael Lee Beckham, a beloved family man and enthusiastic sports supporter, passed away at his residence on July 18, 2024. Born on February 23, 1957, in Gastonia, NC, Michael touched the lives of many with his kind and joyful spirit. As a devoted father, brother, uncle, and "Paw Paw," Michael found true happiness in his role as a family man. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, especially his daughter Melissa Hattrich and grandson Damien Elkovich and partner Lilly Gordon and grandson Teagan Mason. Michael's love for his family was evident in every moment spent together. In addition to his family members, Michael leaves behind a legacy of friendships and camaraderie. His passion for sports, particularly as an avid North Carolina Tar Heel fan, brought him closer to many special friends who will always remember his lively energy and genuine presence.
Throughout his life, Michael found solace in the calming waters of the beach and the thrill of sailing. Fishing was not just a hobby for him; it was a way to connect with nature and unwind from the demands of everyday life.
Beside relatives who have passed before him like his dear Mother, Barbara Sue Hardy Beckham, his wife Tina Dowdle Beckham as well as his favorite Fur Baby, "Little Bit". Michael is survived by his Father Lee Beckham and his wife Anne; Sister Renee' Rishty with her husband Terry; Brother Bryan Beckham alongside his wife Jenny. Daughter, Melissa Hattrich, Grandson Damien Elkovich with partner Lilly Gordon; and youngest grandson Teagan Mason.
A memorial service will be held to honor the memory of Michael Lee Beckham on July 22, 2024, at Benson Funeral & Cremation in Mt. Holly, NC. The service will commence at 5:00 PM to celebrate a life well-lived and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A visitation will be 1 Hour prior to the service beginning at 4:00 PM
