Michael J. Bedard

Michael J. Bedard, 64, of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at UVM Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mike was born on December 5, 1961 in Burlington, VT, the son of Joseph and Jacqueline (Best) Bedard. Mike was a graduate of Burlington High School, class of 1980, and attended West Palm Beach College.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Bedard) and her husband, Steven Jacobs, with grandson Adley and granddaughter Kalli Jacobs of Dansville, NY, as well as his son Michael G Bedard of West Palm Beach, FL.
He is also survived by his siblings: Deborah Donovan, Randy (Lynn), Tim (Kelly), Bryan Bedard, sister-in-law Patty Bedard, and his partner, Kelly Moran. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents, brother Kevin, and brother-in-law Russell Donovan.
Mike settled in West Palm Beach Fl. for 30+ years, where he raised his family and worked as a Maintenance manager at many shopping plazas in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton. In 2012, he returned to his roots in VT. Mike was a reliable friend who loved helping others in need. He dedicated time and hard work to the projects he completed for others and cultivated relationships with them in turn.
Mike had many hobbies and interests, which include motor cross racing, golfing, skiing and hockey. Mike could never pass up a good garage sale where he bought and collected anything and everything. He always had the solution to a problem and the part to fix it.
His greatest love was family, helping others, having a good chat and spending time at camp in South Hero, always offering golf cart rides.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Church,1251 North Avenue, Burlington. A graveside service will immediately follow in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
