Michael Blackmore Obituary
Michael was a gifted musician whose love of music shaped much of his life. A talented trumpet player, he performed with the Chancellor High School marching band as well as several other musical ensembles during his years there and received numerous achievements. A lifelong member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Michael grew up in the fellowship of his congregation and served faithfully as an acolyte during his childhood. Michael graduated from the University of Virginia, where he was an active member of the Theta Chi fraternity. He later founded his own business project, Jefferson/Structure. A venture that reflected his heart and soul.
Survivors include his mother, Sylvia F. Blackmore; uncles Everette L. Myers, Jr. and Charles E. Blackmore; cousins Denise, Chrissy, and Kenny; and his special cousins, Natalie and Kaleb. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dennis Blackmore; maternal grandparents Everett L. Myers, Sr. and Josephine V. Myers; and paternal grandparents Charles F. Blackmore and Anna E. Blackmore.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fredericksburg SPCA, Tabernacle United Methodist Church, or Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church.
