Michael Bodoh's Memorial Mass Video
With heavy hearts we're saddened to announce that Michael John Bodoh, age 70 passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 19 at his home in Lino Lakes, MN after a courageous 8-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Mike was born on December 28, 1953 in New London. He married his wife, Ellen on October 24, 1981 at St. Patrick's Parish in Lebanon. Mike and Ellen spent 42 happy years together. For 43 years Mike worked as a project engineer at Hillshire Farm, now Tyson Foods. Mike and Ellen remained in New London until 6 weeks ago when they relocated to be nearer to their daughter, Mallory and granddaughters in Minnesota. Mike was always there for Ellen and Mallory and would drop everything at a moment's notice to come to the rescue. When he wasn't working, Mike spent every free minute with Ellen and Mallory. Many summer Saturday afternoons were spent soaking in the sun on their boat. When the family wasn't on the boat he liked to spend his free time planting trees, mowing the lawn and tending the garden on their 5 acre oasis south of New London or taking his Corvette for a cruise. He could often be found at the gym working out with Ellen and the Golden Girls or woodworking in his basement. Never wavering in his faith, Mike went to church every Sunday and served as lector at both St. Patrick's Parish and Most Precious Blood in New London. His pride and joy were his 2 granddaughters - he couldn't talk about them without joy lighting up his whole being, completely giving away how much he loved them. Words cannot convey how deeply he will be missed by his family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Ellen, daughter Mallory (Jesse) Pischlar, granddaughters Chloe (4) and Vivienne (1.5), brother Jim (Michelle) Bodoh, and sisters Margaret (Lawrence) Fietzer and Mary (Mark) Bodoh-Stone; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kate (Jack) Korb, Pat (Kim) Gorman, Bob (Barb) Gorman and Sandy Gorman as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Kathleen Bodoh, in-laws Jim and Mary Ann Gorman, brother-in-law Bill Gorman and nephew Nicholas Chambers.
A visitation will be held from 9-11am, on Wednesday May 1 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's church in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Ellen and Mallory would like to thank the teams at M Health Fairview and AccentCare Hospice at M Health Fairview in Minneapolis for all their help in the short time Mike was in their care.
Love will keep us alive.
