Michael E. Bogart Sr.

Michael E. Bogart Sr., 69, died on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
He was born January 10, 1955; a son to the late Edward Tarby and Kathyleen (Esbaugh) Bogart.
Mike graduated from Fairview High School in 1973, where he also wrestled and played football. Following graduation, Mike joined the U.S. National Guard Reserves while beginning his career at Erie Malleable Iron (EMI). His career at EMI was centered around the smelting of iron, spending long days next to intense heat. After nearly 30 years of service and a job well done, he retired.
Mike found many ways to fill his time outside in nature. He planted a vegetable garden which he used to create spices for friends and family. The planted sunflowers in his front yard were for all to enjoy, as they grew to great heights. Next would be a new challenge: beekeeping, which he did for several years with great skill.
Mike spent day after day at the YMCA in Glenwood making many friends while also spending time with his sons. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, rarely missing a game.
He will be greatly missed by his sons; Michael E. Bogart Jr., Matthew Bogart, and many family members as well as cherished friends.
By his wishes, no calling hours will be observed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
