Michael Bond Obituary
Michael is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine Caley Bond, his sons, Michael (Kristin) Bond and David Bond, his sister Mary Lou Carlton, and three grandchildren, Jackson Bond, Pepper Bond, and Lucas Bond, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.
Michael was a man of many talents and interests. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Animal Sciences. Following graduation, Mike managed multiple large dairy farms in the North Florida area, until building his own dairy in Columbia County in 1981.
In 1992, Michael left his first passion, animal sciences, returned to school, and began a new career as an emergency room nurse. He worked at Lake City Medical Center until his retirement in 2012.
Throughout his life, Michael had a great passion for music and at different points in his life worked as a radio disc jockey. He also was an accomplished drummer playing in numerous rock bands over the years. Mike challenged himself to join his sons on roller and ice hockey teams, in Gainesville and Jacksonville, playing goalie. Mike was also a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed rebuilding and driving the cars he restored.
A Celebration of Mr. Bond's Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel, 458 S. Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL 32025. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 19, 2025, one hour prior at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity, church or organization of your choice. I worked with Mike for more than 16 years. I will always remember him as being so kind to everyone he came in contact with. He was a great Registered ER Nurse. Very sad to hear of his Passing. God Bless him.
